Esta ilustración es una propuesta para las ilustraciones de un libro sobre la selección portuguesa de fútbol. Nunca imaginé que haría ilustraciones futboleras, pero la verdad que es de lo más divertido, a ver si algún día me animo y preparo alguna de Kanouté.

Esta es la primera tira cómica de vuestro grupo favorito The Chuministros. La idea es publicar una tira semanal, pero como los protagonistas son estas estrellas del rock de descomunal ego, igual se nos acaba pegando la actitud y sacamos tiras cuando nos apetezca sin más.

El tiempo, a finales de un verano de cambios, quiso que un hada perdida y curiosa se acercara una noche al domo de crsital, se trataba de un hada joven, tanto en edad como en mente, era un hada que nunca había abierto sus alas completamente, pero de la que podría decirse que albergaba más colores de los que mostraba. En aquella noche como en muchas de las noches que compartirían, el cielo abandonó su tediosa armonía matemática para dar paso a un fogoso baile de estrellas juguetonas que se acumulaban aleatoriamente formando minúsculas figuras en el centro del inmenso círculo de cielo que alcanzaban a ver. Seducida por tal vaiven de luces, el hada, cesó su vuelo para así poder apreciar el cosmos que tanto la hechizaba. Sin saber como, se percató de que estaba sentada junto a algo, una semiesfera cubierta de tierra y polvo; “qué hallazgo tan lunático!” exclamo para sí, y con el dedo índice de su mano izquierda apartó una mínima e insignificante porción de la corteza de desperdicios que no permitían ver el contenido de aquella cúpula. Cuando miró por el diminuto poro que había abierto olvidó todas las bellezas que buscaba en el cielo, estaba viendo una infima parte de la flor, y la flor estaba viendo una infima parte de ella, no olvidaría esa noche. Al principio, el hada se encargó de forzar todas las rutas de los mapas para poder pasar cerca de la flor amenudo, con el tiempo dejó de necesitar excusas. Cada noche retiraban un poco de la tierra que tenía la flor encima para poder verse con más claridad. La flor estaba fascinada por las cosas bellas que el polvo no le había dejado ver, y el hada por la incalculable belleza de aquellos pétalos. Con el tiempo llegaron a apartar casi toda la tierra, la flor ya era capaz de ver el hermoso mundo que la rodeaba, pero su pena continuaba por la imagen distorsionada de si misma que veía en forma de lastimoso fulgor translúcido y perenne y se solapaba con los colores preciosos del mundo. Y el tiempo pasaba.

En fin, Últimamente estoy haciendo ilustraciones con un acabado más infantil. Todo es por culpa de un trabajillo que me ha surgido que me ilusiona un montón, hasta el punto que tal como acabo las ilustraciones para este, no puedo parar y sigo ilustrando por gusto, así salen cosas como esta. Por fin, ya está lista una versión provisional del portfolio de esta web. Lo he montado en html estático para tener algo presentable ya. Esta es la ilustración para la portada de la guía de ocio y agenda cultural “Live“, se puede encontrar en los pubs y cafeterías de Sevilla. En la ilustración, aparece la Torre del Oro con piernas buscando una simbología clara para el dinamismo y movilidad que representa Live con respecto a otras guías de carácter parecido. Del interior de la torre emergen orquídeas, que además de ser flores preciosas, integran una especie apasionante. Existen miles de tipos de orquídeas, cada una “diseñada” para la seducción de algún insecto (más o menos como los seres humanos por las noches). Se ha utilizado la imagen de las orquídeas para hacer referencia a lo variado del contenido de dicha publicación, pudiendo encontrarse información interesante para lectores de inquietudes muy dispares.

Este fin de semana estuve de visita por mi pueblo. Pude coincidir con muchos de mis coleguines de infancia y coseché un sinfín de sensaciones agridulces. Que difícil es sincronizar las formas en las que crecen las inquietudes. Empiezas a desarraigar, y cuando t das cuenta, ya no tienes ni una rama conocida cerca. En fin, como bien describe Chuck Palahniuk en los ensayos de “Error humano”, hay medios para comunicarse que siempre funcionarán:

Parece que por fin vuelven, y de verdad. Se trata de un grupo de música tremendo. Éste fue el primer trabajo medianamente serio que hice en el mundillo del diseño, sigue encantándome como el primer día. Ha sido una pena que el grupo pasara por algunas crisis que lo han tenido paradillo, pero ahora, después de todo regresan, y junto con ellos, nuevas portadas, webs, carteles, logos… No hace falta hablar mucho de la ilusión que me hace la posibilidad de volver a trabajar con ellos.
